KST DS215MG Servo

The KST-DS-215MG are the fastest, most robust, and reasonably priced "high-voltage" servos in this class. We have found them to be "effectively invincible" in 150g bots (other than direct physical damage to the servo itself of course).

They can take direct 2S (8.4v), and have survived being stalled for entire 300mah packs. That's not recommended, and they will get quite hot, but they are very hard to kill.

In our experience they have more than enough torque for anything in 150g bots.

Like all servos offered by Turnabot, these are extremely hard to hurt with normal usage.* 

*Many cheaper servos will burn out after only a few seconds of "hard-stalling" and often die after only a few minutes when very lightly stalled. These servos will put up with some stalling for entire battery packs.*

*PLEASE NOTE* stalling them will make them HOT. Unlike cheap servos they survive a lot of abuse, but please be aware that they can become uncomfortably hot to touch. It is still best to avoid stalling them as much as possible (it also uses a lot of battery energy to stall them).

We did start out offering much cheaper servos which "worked". However, once customers gained some experience and became more competitive they almost always killed at least one by stalling it for too long. Then they would have to get a second one as a replacement, and generally a third to have on-hand as a spare. Three of the cheap servos is roughly the same cost as one of these, which skips the frustration of killing one plus they're lighter as well.
